MUAR – Five male students from a secondary school in this district has been remanded for three days by the Muar Magistrate Court to assist in the investigation of a bully case involving a junior student last week.

The remand order was issued on all the 16 years-old students by Magistrate Analia Kamaruddin until this Saturday to enable the police to conduct investigation under Section 147 of the Penal Code.

Earlier, five students were arrested for bullying their 14-years-old junior, causing the victim to suffer from bruises on his left ribs and had to seek treatment at the hospital.

Muar District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Zaharudin Rasip said that the Muar District Police Headquarters received a report on Tuesday evening, stating that the victim was bullied by his seniors and sustained injuries.

All suspects were arrested within 24 hours after the police report was lodged around Kuala Sungai Baru, Melaka; Kajang, Selangor; Kuala Lumpur and Johor Bahru District this morning.

Preliminary police investigation found that the bully happened after all suspects were dissatisfied with the attitude of the victim and his friends.

He said, the Muar District Police view criminal cases involving students seriously, especially bully cases in school and will not compromise with anyone involved. -MalaysiaGazette
