KUALA LUMPUR – Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob who represented 31 Members of Parliament (BN) who have made their decision to maintain their support to the Perikatan Nasional (PN) said that he has yet to receive any letter from the Secretary-General of UMNO, Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan.

He, who is also the Vice-President of UMNO is not sure if the letter has been handed over to his officer or not.

“I said, I will read the letter (disciplinary action). I haven’t receive it yet.

“Perhaps, it’s through my officer. I haven’t got the opportunity to read my WhatsApp. Perhaps they have sent it,” he said during a news conference today.

Yesterday, UMNO was reported to have sent a letter to all its Members of Parliament (MPs) to state their position in black and white.

The letter sent by Ahmad Maslan has urged all MPs of the party to put their answer in the form attached in the letter by the following day.

Elaborating further, Ismail Sabri said that the letter sent by Ahmad Maslan was unconstitutional.

Thus, they urge the President of UMNO, Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi to hold a meeting with all MPs from BN to explain about his actual intention.

“We will look into the matter and decide if we need to answer or not. We will discuss later. At the same time, as the instruction from the President involves us as the MPs, we urge the President to meet us so that he can explain his intention to us.

“He cannot issue orders without meeting and explaining to us,” said Ismail Sabri.

Meanwhile, several BN MPs could not be contacted to get their opinion on the matter.

They include, the Kinabatangan MP Datuk Seri Bung Mokhtar Radin and UMNO Women’s Chief Datuk Seri Dr Noraini Ahmad.

“Could not contact Bung Moktar. We will continue to contact them. Noraini shut down her phone,” he added. –MalaysiaGazette
