KUALA LUMPUR – The opposition coalition has decided to only nominate Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as the ninth Prime Minister of Malaysia.

The matter has been verified by the President of Parti Warisan Sabah (Warisan), Datuk Seri Mohd. Shafie Apdal when contacted by The Borneo Post today.

According to the Member of Parliament (MP) of Semporna, he and his party will be giving their support to Anwar.

Parti Warisan had earlier intended to nominate Shafie as the Prime Minister candidate if Anwar does not get the majority support.

Meanwhile, Shafie also expressed his disappointment after Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) refused to give their support to the PM candidate from Borneo.

“This is not for myself, on the contrary, it was agreed by the founders of the country under Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) that Sabah and Sarawak has the same rights as a territory,” he said. -MalaysiaGazette
