KUALA LUMPUR – Bella, the Down Syndrome girl who was allegedly abused at Rumah Bonda under the care of Siti Bainun Ahd Razali could not be present at the Sessions Court today due to fever.

She was scheduled to be at the court after being summoned by the prosecutors to be a witness for an identification process.

Deputy Public Prosecutor, Nor Azizah Mohamad said that a rescheduling will be done to enable the differently abled teenager to be at the court on date which will be confirmed later.

This morning, MalaysiaGazette reported that the abused teenager will be at the court for an identification process today.

The Founder of Rumah Bonda, Siti Bainun, 30, pleaded not guilty to two counts of child neglect and abuse of the differently abled teenager, causing the victim to suffer from physical and emotional injuries.

She was charged with committing the offence at a condominium in Wangsa Maju between February and June 2021.

The charges are framed under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child’s Act 2001, which carries a maximum 20 years’ jail sentence or RM50,000 fine or both upon conviction.

The trial resumes before Judge Izralizam Sanusi. -MalaysiaGazette
