KUALA LUMPUR – Datuk Ameer Ali Mydin has forgiven the looters at Taman Sri Muda Mydin Mart in Shah Alam, Selangor on Saturday following the big flood although the company had to bear millions of Ringgit in losses.

The Managing Director of Mydin Mohamed Holdings Berhad (Mydin) said, although he did not condone their action, the emergency state may have forced the local residents steal in order to survive as they were at their wits’ end.

“I sincerely forgive those who did such action with the intention to sustain themselves as the assistance were late to arrive.

“Let us pray to Allah S.W.T so that everyone is saved from the flood disaster and pandemic. May things return to how it used to be,” he said in a statement today.

Earlier, a video footage of a flooded Mydin Mart in Taman Sri Muda was broken into between 1.00 pm to 2.00 pm on Saturday went viral.

According to Ameer, he was touched and sympathised with the flood victims especially when the country is still battling the Covid-19 pandemic. -MalaysiaGazette
